Let the words of my mouth…

The stress of writing your first blog post can be overwhelming. What on earth is worthy to be the inaugural post that others may or may not read but I will look back years later to ponder the topic that got this blog party started?  Oh the anxiety and pressure!  It is almost too much to bear! I think the best way to start is with an introduction so you can make an informed choice if you want to even consider following a novice blogger such as I.

In a nutshell, the next few sentences wrap up my past 40 years. Farm kid, only child, overly loved by amazing parents, a granny, and a great-aunt that all took part in raising me. Tomboy turned into pageant queen which was a short reign.  I preferred showing Holstein cows over pantyhose and evening gown wear. Made it through Pleasant Hope school to grab my diploma and run a mere 20 miles to Drury University (College back then) to graduate with a bachelors in communication. Decided I would go a little farther this time and headed 1500 miles west for a 10 year adventure.  And oh what an adventure it was. Ultimately, the sweet sounds and smells of home called and I returned to the place I ran away from starting a 7 year career at my alma mater. Started getting that 7 year itch that I hear referred to in marriages that I am sure equates to jobs as well and made the leap to a non-profit organization 2 years ago.

8 sentences describe the past 40 years.  That’s just the CliffNotes of the CliffNotes. There are countless stories full of thrill, uncertainty, sadness, and excitement in between those 8 sentences. All life lessons learned mostly the hard way and led to my need to be refined after 40 years of living. Hence, Big Red Refined.

Intrigued?  Then stick around. My posts will be peppered with my love for Jesus, my precious fur babies, my family and friends, and my obsession for Elvis, accessories and healthy beauty.

Perfect grammar and punctuation, it will not contain. However, each post will strive for…

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Psalm 19:14  NKJV

Until next time, follow me on Instagram and Twitter.

Refine and Revive,

Big Red
